LEED for Homes Webinar Series begins

Learn the nuts and bolts of LEED for Homes in this three-session series of 60-minute webinars. The first webinar, which was aired live Feb. 13, is now archived and available for download, and registration is open for the remaining two sessions. Use the webinars to understand how the new rating system supports high-performance green homes, how it recognizes and rewards builders, and how LEED for Homes providers are involved in the delivery process. USGBC, ASID announce REGREEN program

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) have partnered to create the first nationwide green residential remodeling guidelines for existing homes. The guidelines, comprised of best practices using a “whole-house” approach, will be supplemented by learning programs and print and electronic resources for building professionals and homeowners as part of the REGREEN program. Home and lifestyle network HGTV has built its first green home, a LEED-Gold 2,000-square-foot fully furnished three-bedroom home near the popular beach resort Hilton Head Island, S.C. During the HGTV Green Home Giveaway 2008(SM), from March 21 to May 9, 2008, viewers can enter to win the home and prize package valued at approximately $850,000.
