The death of the wife of the murdered president of Haiti was denied

The wife of the murdered Haitian President Jovenel Moise did not die after the attack, but is in critical condition. She is being urgently evacuated for medical care to the American Miami. Her death was denied by the Haitian ambassador to the United States, Michelle Sison, reports Reuters.

Before that, on July 7, it was reported that the Council of Ministers of Haiti declared martial law in the country after the assassination of the president. His representative promised that all those responsible for the attack on the leader of the state and his wife will be found and brought to justice.

Earlier it became known that a group of unidentified persons attacked the residence of the President of Haiti on the night of July 7. The attackers fatally wounded the head of state with a firearm. It was reported that the first lady of Haiti, Martin Moise, was also injured in the attack and subsequently died.

In the United States, they called the incident a tragedy. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki expressed solidarity with the people of Haiti and noted that the American side is ready to provide any necessary assistance to the country.
